Popular TikToker Olumide Ogunsanwo, also known as Seaking, has been arrested over alleged defamatory comments against the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore disclosed the arrest on Thursday, February 6, stating that Seaking was taken into custody in Lagos and flown to Abuja.
In a statement on his Facebook page, Sowore revealed that he and lawyer Deji Adeyanju visited the Federal Investigation Department (FID) of the Nigeria Police Force, where they learned that the TikToker was being held for alleged cyberbullying.
The arrest followed a petition reportedly filed by one Paul James Adama on behalf of Pastor Adeboye.
Sowore criticized the police action, describing it as a misuse of law enforcement.
“To our surprise, they disclosed that Olumide’s recent ordeal resulted from alleged cyberbullying against Pastor E.A. Adeboye in a TikTok session in December 2024,” he stated

A review of Seaking’s TikTok page shows videos from December in which he criticized Pastor Adeboye for wearing military camouflage during the RCCG convention in August.
He also reacted to the pastor’s controversial remarks about the high exchange rate of the naira to the dollar.
