A South African marriage therapist and community psychologist, Bakhe Dlamini, has revealed that he remained celibate until marriage, losing his virginity to his wife on their honeymoon at the age of 27.
Dlamini made this revelation in a heartfelt Facebook post on Valentine’s Day, where he reflected on his decision to wait until marriage before engaging in intimacy.
“I lost my virginity to my wife at the age of 27, on our first night at our honeymoon. I know it’s seen as outdated nowadays. That’s why I want to talk about it on this Valentine’s Day. I want to celebrate that. I believed that sex is pure and wanted to have it for the first time with that special someone in marriage,” he wrote.
The father of three further shared how he and his wife navigated the period of courtship, recalling how they kept their relationship chaste despite the challenges.
“I recall how, at times, I’d tease during the days we were preparing for our wedding: ‘Hey, I feel too much fire between you and I. Time for me to go. I’ll see you tomorrow.’ I’d drive off and see her the next day as we worked on our wedding preps. I don’t regret waiting.”
