A 56-year-old pastor, identified as Emeka Mkama, has been arrested for allegedly r@p!ng a four-year-old girl in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The incident, which reportedly took place on December 24, 2024, came to public attention on Monday, February 17, 2025, after it was escalated to the Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, and the Chairman of Idemili North LGA, Chief Stanley Nkwoka.
Sources reveal that a health officer at the Model Primary Health Centre, Obosi, alerted the Supervisor of Health in Idemili North about the case, leading to the suspect’s arrest. Mkama, a native of Ebonyi State, is said to be a pastor at Jesus Build the Church Mission in Obosi.
According to Punch, a family member of the victim, who spoke anonymously, disclosed that the child had been unwell since the incident, yet the family initially refrained from reporting the matter to the authorities
“It was when the child’s condition worsened after being treated with herbal medicine that her mother finally took her to the primary healthcare facility,” the source stated.
