“She Suffered Years of Abuse, Taye Was a Victim, Not Unfaithful” – Eyewitness Counters Infidelity Claims in Ekiti Tragedy
The shocking deaths of Police Officer Caleb Leramo and his wife, Taye, in Ado Ekiti have sparked conflicting narratives about the events leading to their tragic end.
While some reports suggest infidelity as a possible cause, a neighbor—who prefers to remain anonymous—has strongly refuted these claims, insisting that Taye was a victim of long-term domestic abuse
Speaking to our correspondent, the eyewitness expressed outrage over the allegations of infidelity, describing them as a deliberate attempt to tarnish the deceased woman’s reputation.
“I was deeply angered by the false narratives circulating online. Your platform is widely read in Ekiti, and it is crucial to ensure that misinformation is not spread, especially when it dishonors the dead. Whoever fabricated that story is not only heartless but has also sinned against fairness and justice,” the source said.
“Taye was a virtuous woman. The claim that she was unfaithful is a blatant lie. If such allegations were true, where is the evidence? Who was the supposed lover, and where was the matter officially reported? This is nothing but a cover-up to secure the officer’s entitlements,” the source added.
According to the eyewitness, Taye was a hardworking woman who suffered immense hardship in her marriage.
“Taye was never promiscuous. She endured unimaginable abuse at the hands of her husband. He was a violent and controlling man. She was a professional hairdresser who later resorted to selling second-hand clothes and smoked fish just to survive after he destroyed her shop.”
The source further alleged that Taye had attempted to leave the marriage multiple times but was always persuaded to return.
“He had been married before, but he never told her. She left him on three occasions, but he always found a way to bring her back. Taye was depressed and frustrated, but she was never unfaithful.”
The neighbor concluded with a passionate plea:
“What I know for sure is that her husband subjected her to a cruel and painful life. Whatever pushed her to take such a drastic step must have been unbearable. But one thing is clear—she was not an adulteress. She suffered. She suffered until she met a tragic end.
“May God punish those spreading falsehoods against her. If they insist she was unfaithful, let them present evidence. The truth must not be buried with her.”
