Former lawmaker Senator Shehu Sani has challenged ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s assertion that he secured victory for President Bola Tinubu in Kaduna during the 2023 presidential election.
El-Rufai recently claimed that despite his efforts to deliver votes for Tinubu, the president deliberately excluded him from his ministerial appointments, not the National Assembly as widely speculated.
However, Sani dismissed the claim, calling it a false narrative.
“In case anyone from Kaduna State tries to lie that he delivered Tinubu in the 2023 Presidential election and he is entitled, this was the result;”
Atiku 554,360k
Tinubu 399,294k
Peter Obi who was denied the use of Arewa House after paying for it pulled 294,494k.”
In a post responding to El-Rufai’s statement, Sani shared the official results of the 2023 presidential election in Kadun:
Atiku Abubakar (PDP): 554,360 votes
Bola Tinubu (APC): 399,294 votes
Peter Obi (LP): 294,494 votes
The figures suggest that Tinubu did not win Kaduna State, as Atiku emerged victorious.
Sani further pointed out that Peter Obi, who was reportedly denied the use of Arewa House for his campaign, still managed to secure a significant number of votes in the state.
