The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has said he is unsure whether former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, is a member of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

Morka’s statement follows the APC NEC meeting held in Abuja, which was attended by key party figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and other top party leaders.

However, El-Rufai, alongside former Rivers State Governor Chibuike Amaechi, was notably absent from the gathering, fueling speculation about internal party tensions.

During a recent interview, El-Rufai accused President Tinubu and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, of orchestrating his failed ministerial nomination.

He claimed that Tinubu deliberately excluded him from his cabinet and dismissed the notion that a security report was responsible for his disqualification.

He also alleged that Ribadu was working against him due to the NSA’s rumored presidential ambition for 2031.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Morka suggested that El-Rufai might not be a NEC member, casting doubt on whether he was formally invited to the meeting.

“Many of those who attended made plans and traveled from different parts of the country. If El-Rufai wanted to be at the meeting, he would have come,” Morka said.

“By the way, let me not say this, but I don’t know how to check. I don’t know if he’s a member of NEC. Certainly a member of caucus, but I doubt that he’s a member of sructures.
