President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially signed the N54.99 trillion 2025 Appropriation Bill into law, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s fiscal planning.
The signing took place on Friday, February 28, 2025, during a brief ceremony at the Presidential Villa, attended by key government officials, including the leadership of the National Assembly, led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The National Assembly had passed the bill on February 13, 2025, after raising it from the N49.7 trillion initially proposed by the president.
The newly signed budget represents a 99.96% increase from the 2024 budget of N27.5 trillion, reflecting the government’s commitment to funding critical sectors and infrastructure development.

Statutory Transfers: N3.65 trillion
Recurrent (Non-Debt) Expenditure: N13.64 trillion
Capital Expenditure: N23.96 trillion
