LG Polls : Oyo Govt Restricts Movement, Exempts Essential Workers

The government of Oyo on Friday announced a total restriction of human and vehicular movement on Saturday due to the conduct of LGA election in the state.

The restriction was announced in a post shared on the state government’s official handle on X.

“Please note this important announcement regarding movement restrictions in Oyo State on Saturday, 27 April 2024 for the Local Government election,” the post reads.

“The Oyo State Government has declared total restrictions of movement tomorrow, Saturday, 27th of April 2024, the restriction will be in place from 0600 hours to 1600 hours.

“Only providers of essential services are exempted from these restrictions.”

The election would be held across the 33 LGAs of the state.

The Oyo government had declared Friday as a half-work day for all civil and public servants in the state ahead of the LGA election.
