The Northern Ethnic Youth Group Assembly (NEYGA) has issued a strong call to Senator Ali Ndume to direct his efforts towards resolving the ongoing Boko Haram insurgency in Borno South senatorial district, his constituency.

This plea was articulated in a statement signed by NEYGA’s spokesperson, Mallam Ibrahim Dan-Musa.

According to the group, despite Senator Ndume’s over two-decade-long tenure in the National Assembly, the Boko Haram insurgency continues to devastate Borno South.

NEYGA highlighted the extensive resources being utilized to combat the terrorists, expressing concern over the continued suffering of the constituents under Ndume’s representation.

The group criticized Senator Ndume for not doing enough to mitigate the hardships faced by his constituents.

They emphasized the need for him to collaborate with local stakeholders to devise a sustainable solution to the insurgency, rather than engaging in political posturing.

NEYGA also referenced Ndume’s past experiences in the Senate, including his suspension and removal as Senate Leader, urging him to leverage his influence and experience to restore peace to his constituency.

“Senator Ndume should focus on ending the insurgency in his district rather than making noise about political vendettas.”

“His constituents are suffering, and he has a responsibility to alleviate their plight,” the group’s statement read in part.
