Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that the results of the 2027 presidential election have already been decided by those in power.
Speaking in a recent interview with Vanguard, Sowore insisted that the electoral outcome was predetermined, casting doubt on the credibility of Nigeria’s democratic process.
“The 2027 results are already written,” Sowore declared. “Whether it’s a campaign, a protest, or a court battle—I’m always running for something. But if you’re asking about elections, I don’t believe in the current ballot system.”
Despite his concerns about electoral integrity, the Sahara Reporters publisher confirmed he would still be contesting in the 2027 polls. “I never stopped running,” he added.
Sowore also weighed in on the state of the nation under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, describing the current administration as detrimental to Nigeria’s development.
“Nigerians made a grave mistake voting Bola Tinubu into office,” he said. “Buhari killed Nigeria in eight years; Tinubu, in just two years, is burying it.”
He lamented the economic and institutional setbacks witnessed under the current government, stating that the country’s democracy, education, and public institutions have suffered significant damage.
