Popular Nigerian singer and record producer, Young John, has opened up about feeling financially “intimidated” by his colleague, Davido.
The “Go Hard Or Go Home” hitmaker made this revelation during a brief sideline interview at the Paris Fashion Week in France.
When asked if he had ever met anyone who made him feel broke, Young John didn’t hesitate to mention the Afrobeats superstar.
“Too many times, bro. Davido. Whenever I see his money, I’m like, I need to work hard and drop more songs,” he said with a laugh.
Despite the intimidating nature of Davido’s wealth, Young John emphasized that the DMW boss is also a source of motivation.
According to him, seeing Davido’s success pushes him to put in more effort and aim higher in his music career.
Young John, whose real name is John Saviours Udomboso, first rose to prominence as a producer under Olamide’s YBNL Nation.
He was the creative force behind several hit tracks for artists like Olamide and Lil Kesh before eventually venturing into singing—a path he once described as accidental.
