Troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, under Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have scored a major breakthrough in Taraba State with the arrest of a man suspected of facilitating kidn*pping activities in Wukari LGA.
Brigade spokesman Lt. Umar Mohammed said troops acting on credible intelligence on 22 November 2025 arrested Umar Musa Geyi at Jandei–Kulamu, Wukari LGA.
Security officials confirmed that Geyi had been on watchlist and is believed to be linked to multiple crimnal operations in the area. Early findings indicate a possible connection to the abducton of Alhaji Jano, a Fulani resident kidnapped on 13 November 2025 and still missing.
Sources said troops intercepted Geyi while he was allegedly on a phone call mentioning the missing v!ctim and discussing rans*m figures. Authorities stress that all claims remain under investigation.
The suspect is in custody as operatives work to track possible accomplices and locate the missing man.
Brigade Commander Brig.-Gen. Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa praised the troops’ swift action and reaffirmed commitment to dismantling crim*nal networks and enhancing security across Taraba. He urged residents to stay vigilant and share credible intelligence promptly.
