Former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola has proclaimed that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is set to take over from the All Progressives Congress (APC) come 2027.

Speaking during the inauguration of the ADC’s new secretariat in Ilorin on Saturday, Aregbesola described the ruling party as a symbol of failure, saying its years in power had left Nigerians “hungry, hopeless, and humiliated.”

“Under the current administration, hunger has taken over the land. Governance has become personal enrichment and political intimidation,” Aregbesola said. “The ADC now stands as the only credible alternative for Nigerians who desire genuine leadership.”

Also addressing the gathering, former Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed hailed the ADC’s growing influence, calling it “the beginning of a new political awakening” that will restore people’s trust in governance.

“Farmers can no longer go to their farms because of insecurity,” Ahmed lamented. “The ADC is ready to rebuild that confidence and make Kwara a model for good governance.”

Party spokesperson and former Minister of Youth and Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, declared that the PDP was “dead and buried,” adding that the ADC had emerged as the only viable opposition nationwide.

“Just three months since our unveiling, the people have embraced us. The question is no longer whether Nigerians want the APC — they clearly don’t. The real question now is whether we can show that ADC is the true alternative. That’s our mission for 2027,” Abdullahi said.
